A quick little post before my sisters disown me

March 12th, 2009

Ok this is a little ridiculous that I’m just now getting around to posting about my weekend on THURSDAY. It’s now closer to the upcoming weekend.  So here’s the deal. Today will be short snippets and I’ll try to cover a lot of ground.

1. Went to Disney show on Saturday with kids and mom and hubby and niece and nephews. Was very fun. Ella was so excited she had commentary nearly the whole show “Goofy! Minnie! What’s that? Where’s Goofy? …” Also, we had a suite or box seats – whatever you call them. And I have to say, I could get used to that. Food brought right to us. No lines for anything. Room for the kids to run around. Sign me up for that again, please! I don’t even care what show.

2. Next on Saturday night we had a joint bday party at my bro and SIL’s. It was for me, my bro, my hubby and my dad! A busy month in my family. My dad is a little bitter he had to share his birthday though. And immediately upon my sister’s arrival he asked “Hi! Do you have a present for me?”

3. Then at last we had sisters night. Em, Sara and I, and partially my hubby, hung out. There were beers and facebooking and iPhones involved. We may be a little obsessed with our technology. But we had a lot of fun and we especially enjoyed some time laughing at the skanky girls on Rock of Love Tour Bus. Special note: Bret will be in Fort Wayne at Piere’s Sunday night. I kinda want to go, but am a little embarrassed by that fact. If only Em could go with me …

4. Our fun continuted on Sunday when we all went to see Slumdog Millionaire. Loved it. It’s heartbreaking, but happy at the same time. And I loved the way they told the story.

OK, that’s a little bit of a lame post, but the best I can do in 10 minutes. More later.

Disney on Ice – the view is from afar …

but the amenities are so worth it.

Care to dance good lookin’?

Funny girl

Ella is getting more personality by the day. And very independent. She wants to do everything herself. I hear the phrase “I do it! I do it,” all day long. About various things … she wants to help in the kitchen, always requesting I pull her stool up and let her do something. Then she wants to brush her own teeth and zip up her own jammies. Last night when Steve and I were discussing who should drive she even uttered “Can I drive?”

Um no. Not for another 14 years, please.

She’s also been saying funny things. For instance …

* Yesterday when I mentioned getting taco bell, she started chanting “TACO BELL. TACO BELL.” She’s definitely our kid.

* Last night she was trying to get lotion out of the bottle but couldn’t. So when she looked at me puzzled I said, “yep, it’s not working.” (Hey, have you seen what a 2-year-old can do with a bottle of lotion?) Anyway, she then looked puzzled again and said “batteries?” I guess she thinks we can put batteries in anything and make it work. She must have remembered earlier in the day when I put new batteries in our Wii remote.

She’s also really into “George,” as in Curious George right now. Last night she strapped him into the cart next to her at Sam’s Club and she takes him everywhere. But, he’s not perfect, so sometimes she’s forced to give him a timeout.

Here are some recent pics …

Remember fun dip? Ella is really impressed.

Cheesing for a pic.

Showing off her George jammies from Grandma Doucette.
