In Ella’s mind

June 15th, 2011

My parents kept the girls a night this weekend and my mom reported back a few funny things Ella said:

1. Ella excitedly told her grandparents in the car she just saw the carriage go by that took the princess to the ball. (Grandma then realized an Amish buggy had just gone by.)

2. After Ella used the toilet grandma asked if she had wiped. Ella said yes, but then grandma pointed out there was no toilet paper in the toilet. So Ella then ripped some off and threw it in.

Garage sale

June 14th, 2011

We decided to have a garage sale kinda last minute this year because we have a lot of junk to get rid of. Too bad we missed the community garage sale, so we didn’t get too much business. But Ella did a very good job with her first lemonade stand, despite spilling most of her first pitcher a minute after getting set up. She was so excited when she got her first customer she ran in the house to tell me she didn’t spill any of it!

Glitter really added an upscale look to our signage.

She wanted to charge 14 cents a cup but we pointed out that making change with that would be a lot of work. So, a quarter it was. A real steal I think!

Eva, remember this is a business!

Come on people, get your lemonade! (I think all in all she made about $2. Next year, we hope to double our profits.)

Friday night

June 11th, 2011

We had a good dinner out with my parents, sister and her kids tonight. Eva ran around a lot, but I’m getting used to swallowing my food as fast as it comes and parading a constant stream of snacks and toys to try to keep her entertained to sit through an hour dinner. It’s a good thing babies don’t come out 18 months old because you need some time to work up to this level of parenting prowess.

And on that note, we have a babysitter tomorrow night. Ahhh. That will be so nice. Better yet, it’s my mom. Where the girls love to go and they will spend an entire night. Leaving me to enjoy my morning coffee all by myself.

That’s all I got. I’ve just consumed a lot of pistachios and wine. A pretty good Friday night. Is that lame?

Good times and sunshine

June 7th, 2011

Well it’s too bad my computer needs more space on it and will not let me upload more photos right now! We’ve had so much fun lately. A birthday party Saturday, Buckner Park splash pad Sunday with family and today a good trip to Fremont and another park with the girls.

And I believe, knock on wood, that I’ve found a magical bedtime for the girls. 8:30. I’ve always sworn the girls have a short bedtime window you have to hit. If you put them to bed too early or too late, it’s not going to go well. But you find the right time, life is good!

OK, that’s all. I wish I had a photo to post, but apparently my IT guy has to work one of his other jobs.
