Cuteness

Steve took some very cute photos of the girls this day. Nothing really special going on, just a trip to the park, but a nice day.

Soccer 2012

September 15th, 2012

Ella’s taking soccer this fall and spring at a very nearby field with a few friends from preschool. There are several things that are awesome about this:

  1. The uniforms are ridiculously cute.
  2. We have friends to sit with and talk to while we watch our kids. And she has old friends and new friends on the field with her.
  3. It takes 5 minutes to get there — gymnastics is not offered anywhere nearby so I appreciate this short commute.
  4. It’s nice to sit outside on cool fall mornings, and a big breakfast at Cracker Barrel is perfect afterward.

When did she get so big?

She’s pretty good too. They practice for 30 minutes, then play a game for 30 and she really kicked the ball a lot. And was grinning the whole time.

Her wildest fan. Too bad there’s no league for 2-year-olds. This girl has some energy to burn.

Eva’s first haircut

September 14th, 2012

I’m a little behind. Eva’s first haircut was actually August 18, but better late than never, is what I say.

Anyway, she is about 2 1/2 and had never had her hair cut. Ella needed a haircut and so did I so we decided we would all make an appointment for the same day.

Are we dorks? Look at us all watching like it’s the most exciting event of the year.

OK, she doesn’t appear completely thrilled, but I didn’t really think she was feeling traumatized or anything, so I ran out to my car to grab my water bottle and came back in to find her sobbing in her seat. Poor girl. I guess haircuts are kinda scary. She sat on my lap the rest of the time.

A little trimmed up and feeling good. We survived. Warning to Eva: Hair stylists don’t usually know what to do with our curly hair. Most of the time, you will need to go home and fix it yourself afterward.

Family photos

September 13th, 2012

I’ve been meaning to post these family photos from Ella’s first day of school (preschool included) from the last three years … but it turns out I’m just as busy with one kid in school as I was before. Seriously, how does that work?

Anyway, 2010:
