Almost party time

May 28th, 2010

Our annual Memorial Day party is approaching although it hardly seems like it. In fact I’m starting to worry that I haven’t worried enough. Does that even make sense?

We arranged for a sitter to come over Wednesday night for a few hours so we could make the big shopping trip. And we didn’t even have a list or anything. But if we forgot something we’ll have time to run out, or one of our friends will run out for ut.

I’ve been trying to keep the house fairly clean. Cleaned the bathrooms and steamed all the tile floor last weekend. And I’ll need to do some more cleaning tomorrow. But really not much. Just not too worried.

Two of the families are coming a night early – so we’ll have company all weekend. This strangely relieves the pressure in a way. The house isn’t going to be perfect with a housefull of people and kids all weekend so why stress about it?

It’s almost spooky I am so relaxed. My husband won’t know what to think. Maybe I’m going to lose it at the last minute.

Is steaming the secret to clean tiles floors, because I swear mine are NEVER clean no matter what I do. Help!

And the party will be great — and probably more fun since you aren’t stressing. :-)

Steaming helps and I like it better than mopping, but I don’t like to do it very often. Lately, I’ve been using a swiffer wet jet in between steamings and that’s a quick easy way to get messes as they happen.
