Random thoughts

  • We went to the zoo today despite the cold temperature and the drizzling rain – and had a really good time. It was nice and quiet and we were dressed warm and then I let Ella pick out one thing at the gift shop. She picked out a bag of rocks, and has been playing with them all day. It’s so cute. She almost chose a bracelet, but then she noticed the rocks. I think it’s cool that’s she’s a girl that appreciates bracelets and rocks.
  • I found out my SIL is expecting her third child. This is my SIL on my husband’s side. My brother’s wife is also pregnant. When both babies are born Ella will have 7 cousins on my husband’s side and 4 on my side. That’s a lot, right? 11 cousins, and counting. Pretty cool. Congrats Elizabeth!
  • I went to the Vera Bradley outlet sale today. I had never gone before, and I thought it was really fun. A giant room filled with all types of bags and purses – that’s pretty irresistible in my book. I just picked out a few cosmetic bags. And now I want to travel somewhere, just so I can use them.
  • Speaking of traveling, I actually have been dying to get away (before those bags even.) Not that I have anything I want to get away from – I just love to travel and be somewhere new. I was trying to talk hubby into a few days in Chicago, but then a friend told me what a great time they had in Nashville, Indiana – in Brown County and now we’re thinking about that.
  • I just read Tori Spelling’s second book Mommywood. Her books are so entertaining, it only took me a few days.
  • Ella’s doing really well in her bed. She has been going to sleep by herself in it. Is it wrong that I tell her sometimes I need to do some work when I leave her? I just want a few hours to myself at night.
  • I just realized it’s been entirely too long since I vacuumed. That shaggy carpet lets me get away with it!
  • Today I asked Ella what she dreamed about last night – she said “horsies and cake.”
  • I’m going to go watch Vicki Christina Barcelona while Ella’s sleeping. I better get to it!
