Things that irritate me Monday
Would it be too negative to write about things that annoy me once a week? I don’t think it’s healthy to be positive ALL the time. I just need to unleash sometimes …
1. Why do other moms at the mall toddler playplace think it’s OK not to correct their kids when they are blocking the slide constantly? I had to repeatedly redirect three different toddlers from going up the slide and down the stairs while their moms sat and chatted. Ella was just there to go down the slide and I wasn’t going to tell her to go the wrong way because I don’t want her blocking the slide for other kids on some other day. And wouldn’t you think once they saw me telling their kids not to do it once they would step in and back me up? I don’t get it. My only guess is they enjoyed relaxing while someone else took care of things.
2. Putting a carseat in. For some reason everytime this is a hassle. If our seats are flattened I usually forget to make sure the seat belt is out before putting the seats upright, so I usually have to take them apart again, get the seat belt out and put them upright. Then, and I don’t know why, but everytime I put her seat in I never get it in really secure the first time, so I usually end up doing it twice. And cussing a little. (Ella’s inside while I do this.)
3. Clutter. I just spent over an hour filing dr. bills, putting away random cds, cards, business cards, receipts … all that junk that you just don’t want to put away right away or even know where it should go. And during this time I found like five drawers that really need a makeover. It’s neverending.
OK, well I guess I don’t need to tell you how I’ve spent my day, do I?

Easter has begun. Well I guess it started like a month ago when Ella and I first colored a batch of eggs. I was excited to try that with her this year.
And now it’s actually Easter weekend and we have already
1. Let Ella find her Easter basket from mommy and daddy last night
And this morning we will
2. go on an egg hunt in Kendallville with cousins
and tomorrow we will
3. Open up the Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa Doucette
then
4. Go to church then my moms for yummy food, another egg hunt and easter baskets galore from grandma and grandpa and aunts and uncles.
Is it just me or is it like the holidays are on steroids once you have kids?

In the birthday extravaganza craziness I forgot to post about Ella’s great new table.
We planned it with the help of Steve’s brother – who refurnishes furniture and really can do anything handy, but had never actually built a table like this before.
We looked at countless tables in magazines and decided we loved the “art” tables that had storage for crayons/makers/tablets and even a paper roll to color on. It’s always color ready.
I instantly loved it as soon as I saw it. It’s perfect in her playroom. And now that we’ve had it for a few weeks I love it even more. We’ve done countless puzzles on it, colored, played games …
So, anyway, good work Dan! We love the play table.

I’m really trying to do some work right now, but it is taking foorreever to open a single photo. Oy. Luckily I have TV and Internet to keep me amused in the meantime. Oh it opened! …
I had a lot of work to do this week. Aside from the child and the part-time job I also had some freelance work that I get ocassionally. So, I’ve squeezed in hours here and there but really needed some solid time tonight – so I told hubby I’d really need his help.
So he came to me later and said he thought he would take Ella to the movies. Now, we just took her to the movies for the first time a couple weeks ago. I guess I’m falling behind a bit on the blog.
Anyway she loved it. She sat mesmerized watching this movie about a dog called “Jolt.”
She did walk around the seats a bit at one point and once near the end she walked near the door and said “Mommy’s house, daddy’s house, Ella’s house.” Guess she was ready to go.
So anyway, tonight, she followed Steve holding our refillable popcorn bucket (yes, Steve’s a regular) with her blankie inside and said “See you later!” My little movie goer.
It’s hard to take good photos in a theater but here are a few from her first.
Thumb and blankie make anyplace feel like home I guess.
