We are the champions
What a busy weekend. I know I always say that. But truly, when I went to bed last night at 10 p.m. on a Saturday night there was no place I’d rather be.
It was really good though. It started with a late night of paint prep and putting primer on the wall of Ella’s room Thursday night. And then I had my usual work day Friday, then the “Philharmonic does Queen” show at the Embassy Friday night. My sister’s friends had some extra tickets they gave us. Really fun. I had never been to that theater there and it’s so cool. Really beautiful but small and really steep seating so I think you’d be happy with your seats no matter where you were. Next we stopped by a nearby bar and saw a local band playing. Fun. My mom kept Ella so I knew I could sleep in the next morning.
However, plans continued Saturday at 9 a.m., as it was our paint day. Time to finally do Ella’s room and the guest bedroom. My sister watched Ella as my mom, Steve and I painted all day. Also, Steve picked up Ella’s new bed and bought the mattress set (which won’t be in until Thursday.)
After all that Sara and I took the little ones to an arcade I’ve always wanted to try out. I won’t mention the name because I don’t really want to bash someone’s business, but let’s just say it wasn’t the crowd we really want to have our kids around. Seeing someone do drugs in the parking lot really cemented our opinions on that place too. Also, why is it that some game places feel like they should try to fill every inch of space so that there is just barely enough room to walk? Not cool.
Anyway, now it’s Sunday and Ella and I have spent the entire morning so far playing in her room. Yes, her new room. It’s looks so great, it is beyond my expectations. The chocolate brown on the walls is just right too. I think I’ll hold off on posting photos until I get all the art things in and of course the bed. So stay tuned …
And a special shout out to my mom and sister for all the help this weekend. You guys rock! (People still say that right?)

Yes, unless I start using illegal drums and lose everything I have, I don’t think I’ll be going back to that arcade. I think a few episodes of Intervention may have been filmed there. In any event, are non-judgmental and innocent children probably liked it.
