November 5th, 2008

Oops. Sorry I’ve been a blogging slacker lately. My friends had a baby and the daddy even managed to get out three posts here. It’s like they’re TRYING to make me look bad.

Anyway, I’m not sure where to start.

Friday: Trick or treating

Ella became a pro very quickly. How couldn’t she with cousin London leading the way like she was on a mission? Ella and Finn rode happily in a wagon in between holding their baskets up begging for candy. They were so cute. Note to self: Take along decoy snack next year to distract Ella from loads of chocolate goodness. Next year she may be too wise for that though.

Also, highlight: Man who sat in a rocking chair in his yard holding a bloody machete and severed head. He sat so still I didn’t even notice until I heard my BIL whispering “that guy is real! that guy is real!” Kudos, crazy neighbor guy.

Saturday: Night out

Steve and I went sans-toddler to Ann Arbor where we frolicked around carefree, shopping, eating, then enjoying some cold ones with our long lost college friends. It was pretty fun. Even though they did harass me for hours after I tried going to bed.

Sunday: Recuperation

Ella was tired from having tons of fun with Grandma and cousins so I was happy that she was happy just laying in bed with me when we got home. We all went to bed early too. Aaaah.

Monday: Catch up

Ella and I had a very nice afternoon out. Storytime, which included plenty of songs and books, at the local library, a quick lunch out, a trip to Babies-R-Us for my friend’s baby shower (which is probably canceled – See beginning of post) and some grocery shopping. All of that followed by a very long nap in which I made homemade vegetable soup and did heaps of laundry. I am superwoman.

Tuesday: Hello, new president

I worried all day that I should have voted early, at least before work if not in the previous days. But luckily the long line only took me about 40 minutes to get through. Which is better than most from what I’ve heard. Ella and I also attended a Pampered Chef party. Ella was very good while I watched the demonstration and chatted with the ladies. I did not even realize it was 8:30 p.m. when we got  home! I kept her out past her bedtime. Oh well, we had fun.

So there you are, all caught up.

Tune in later when I respond to my sister’s latest post.
