Bring on the sun

Man it’s nice to have sunshine. I love the outdoors. I feel like a different person when spring comes. Even being inside with the windows open, I feel so much healthier and happier.

So all this warm weather has inspired a cleaning bug in me. Maybe that’s why spring cleaning became such a hit – everyone gets this rush of energy and wants to get their house feeling as good as they feel.

I think it actually started when my mom helped me go through Ella’s clothes last week. Out with the 18-24 month and 2t stuff, in with the 3t. Actually she can wear some 2ts. We’re in a little bit of a limbo. 2ts are just perfect but if she grows at all she’ll need a 3t.

Anyway, I hit my closet the other night. If I didn’t wear something this winter or last winter, I pitched it. If I knew I didn’t like my summer clothes the last few summers I pitched them too. I filled a lawn garbage bag. Stuffed. It feels so good to purge.

Then I cleaned the upstairs, sorting through some more junk. We have so many changes that we’re working on for our upstairs, so we really are going to have to narrow it all down and do some organizing. Ella’s moving into a bigger room and getting a twin bed. Steve’s loft office is going to be walled off. We’re going to make some updates to the bathrooms as well. It’s going to be totally different up there. Exciting. I’ll try to do some before and after pics for you all to see.

OK, I must collapse now. Fresh air is exhausting!
