Perfect excuse for new clothes

January 6th, 2009

Ella was so funny this weekend. She said her first big sentence, which was “We have sausage. Yay!” And later she said “Daddy’s funny.” She’s really catching on to the finer points in life isn’t she?

Yesterday we went to Wal-mart, storytime and out to lunch with our neighbor friends. It was a nice time and it’s cool as they get older to see them interact. Ella now refers to the twins by name – but she she does mix them up quite a bit, although they don’t really look anything alike!

My diet is going well. Although the first several days I was HUNGRY. The online food diary I’m using – www.myfooddiary.com – tells me I can only consume about 1200 calories a day to lose a  1/2 pound per week! This seems like a cruel joke to me. Seriously, that seems like a very low calorie count. And my Wii fit scale tells me I’ve already lost 3 pounds since just after Christmas. This makes me wonder if that calorie count is off for some reason. Perhaps they’re not factoring in the calories burnt with having a two-year-old. Nowhere in their “activitiy list” does it say “lifting a 30-pound human being repetitively” or “sprinting to catch a falling cup of milk.” These things have to burn some calories right?

The last two days I put in my 30 minutes on the Wii fit too. And I have the sore muscles to prove it. I mean it hurts to move basically. I did running and boxing and hula hooping and stretching and crunches. Whew. It’s kinda addicting because you want to get more “fit credits” and you want to get better scores. Pretty good motivation.

I think for extra motivation I’m going to reward myself. Here’s my goal: When I lose six pounds, I’ll get myself a new workout outfit.

Way to go Erin! So glad you like the Wii Fit. Sounds like you have Wii-itis?
