Random thoughts Monday

October 11th, 2010

I just ran 2 miles and am enjoying a little time before the kids get up. As hard as it is to get out of bed at 6:15 a.m. to go exercise, man it is worth it for the energy and the extra time I have for myself. The 5k I’m doing is in less than 2 weeks. I think I’ll be ready.

Eva has begun a trend of not wanting to go to bed at night. It is so frustrating. She’s been staying up until 10 on some nights. I so want this time of the night to have to sit still for more than 10 minutes straight.

It’s Monday morning now and I really like how preschool gives us a reason to get going for the week and I get all grocery shopping and errands done while Ella’s there. Having just one kid to take on errands seem so easy!

My feet hurt so bad lately. And I’m realizing they’ve always kinda hurt at the end of the day. Maybe now more so that I’m running, but man they ache. I dream of those little foot soaker baths at nail salons every night. I wonder if I need better shoes. But looking for more supportive shoes sounds kinda depressing!

Well I hear my late night owl awakening …

Confessions of a working mom: I go to bed when my kids do every night. It’s about impossible to get them to bed on their own and I’m tired then anyways. Don’t tell anyone. People will judge me and my lame-ness. It took a long long time to face that I do not really have that fabulous window of “me” time before bedtime, but it was good while it lasted. I wish you luck. This parenting gig is not for sissies. Sorry about your feet too. I saw John Rolison last week and he said Owen goes to 1st grade at Huntertown and they love it. We realized at that moment Finn, Ella and Carson (remember he was born when Ella was!!) will all go to Huntertown together. How cool!! And yes, having one kid to do anything seems like total cake! Do you think people with 3+ laugh at us as they probably think having 2 kids is easy! It’s all relative isn’t it??! Have a great day!

Funny Sara! Well, I’m not giving up my nighttime “me” time without a fight. I’m also really really hopeful it’s a phase because she’s teething. She did something similar with her last teeth. That’s so good to hear about Huntertown school. I was hoping it would be good. Love the location and the smallness to it. Yes, I wonder if people with 3 kids are like ‘”what do you mean “me” time? What’s that?”
