Patti LaBelle and antibiotics
Well, just as I knew it would, going to the doctor ate up my whole night last night. But I came away with a diagnosis of a sinus infection and prescriptions for antibiotics and antihistamines. Yay!
So I decided that picking up my prescriptions at the new Kroger Superstore would cheer me up. Yesterday was the grand opening of this mega 125,000 square-feet super store. It will replace the smaller Scott’s grocery store I love. But I have come to be very excited about the superstore. And let me tell you, it’s pretty super.
First, there is a fresh sushi station in the beautiful produce, deli, meats area that is brimming with tons of awesome, fresh looking food.
And then there is a very long aisle of bins containing all kinds of nuts, oats, grains … that you get yourself in containers provided. Kinda reminds me of a Whole Foods.
I was only sad that I missed the day’s celebrity’s guest, Patty LaBelle. That’s right, she was there signing her cookbooks and launching her new line of sauces, marinades and other things.
I did snag some good puzzles and crafts for the girls. Good sale on toys. I can hardly wait to do my grocery shopping next week.

My guests are gone and I’ve been sleeping like a ROCK. But I still have a nagging headache, along with congestion and an achy neck, for like 2 weeks. So I just decided I am going to the DR tonight. I made myself an appointment. Not at all what I want to do after a day of work, but no allergy or cold medicine seems to help at all!
So, cute pictures of the last week’s escapades will have to wait. Wish me luck.

Over the weekend my in-laws visited and we had a very nice couple of days together – including my company picnic and zoo day, eating at a new Chinese buffet in town and a few movies (well I did have to work so I missed that, but it’s ok).
The next night my nephew came to stay the night. Ella could not have been happier. They went crazy together. Then we took them to McDonalds and to YoYos (frozen yogurt). Pretty much a 4-year-old’s dream night.
And now a really good friend from highschool is in town with her three kids. They are helping some of her family get settled in a new home during the day and spending their nights at our house. We’re loving it. My kids and their kids are hitting it off famously and it’s so so good to see my old friend.
To end this good week I’ll be doing a 4-mile walk, then hitting a fall festival with family and friends then leaving for a camping trip with other good friends. This may take the cake for a lot of plans for one week, but I am loving it!

I’m really getting excited at the prospect of turning all my summer dresses into fall/winter wear with all the great tights out this season. It’s the small things in life right?
Anyway, just look at what H&M is teasing me with…
And those booties sure go great with tights …
These purple chevron tights would look great with several black dresses I have. I’m practically saving money by stretching the mileage of my dresses. Don’t you think?
