And there’s a tooth
I swear since Eva hit six months she’s been on the fast track with milestones. She started eating solids then, started sleeping through the night, then at seven months started crawling, and right away started pulling herself to a stand, and now … there’s finally a tooth poking through! Yay! It will be great when both of them can eat regular food.
And Ella is growing in leaps and bounds too. I actually bought her pajamas in size 5 yesterday. Oh my goodness. And she insisted on pulling Eva in her wagon yesterday home from the park. It was kinda nice for me.

Ella asked me if she could borrow my camera yesterday and she came back with this picture:
It’s of a little plastic turtle and rabbit from her grandparents. I asked her “Did you put them up on the bench like that?” She said “Yeah. They’re not real. They can’t do it themselves.”
I guess she told me.
(I of course was wandering if her daddy had done it for her)

It was a rough day. I’m not going to lie. First, I may have totally jinxed myself with that last post, because Eva would not sleep for me today. Granted there was intermittent hammering sessions going on (I’ll get to that in a minute) but even when there wasn’t … she just wouldn’t. And Ella would not stop asking me for things or ignoring me when I asked her for things. Getting her to comply with the teeth brushing and dressing in the morning may just be what sends me to the loony bin.
Ella knows somehow when she’s pushing me to the edge though and usually saves herself at the last minute by saying something really sweet.
Today in the car she said. “Thank you for buying me lunch Mommy.” Then added “Are you happy now?”
In other news, our laundry hall closet is being turned into an awesome mudroom with lockers and baskets that makes my little organization loving heart putter. I can’t help but show a sneak preview. Tomorrow it will be painted and the hooks and final touches will be added.

Man, I’m beat.
I took the girls to a puppet show this morning at our library. I figured, why not? It was something different and it would be something fun before Ella’s annual hematology appointment.
But then after we were at the hospital for an hour and 1/2 and they had not even taken her blood yet, I realized I had overdone it. We were all tired. And very hungry. But as always, they always put things in perspective there. The nurse said she was working on some other kid’s chemo while we were waiting … and that would be a million times harder than what we’re there to do.
Anyway, Ella’s thriving and healthy, but she sat on my lap and cried, as any kid would, as they took her blood. It is sad to watch, but easier than when she was really young and people had to hold her down.
So, I promised her McDonalds after and a movie at home. And Eva is napping. And my house is a mess. And I really need to do some work. Hubby has been out of town for a few days again and I think it’s all caught up with me.
OK, not sure why I even wrote that post. Maybe because I’m too braindead to do much else!
