Halloween 2011

Excuse my photos. They are going to be quite low-res and grainy. I emailed myself small versions because I’m not patient enough to email 10 large photos. I need to get iCloud up and running, but that requires purchasing the latest Mac OS … ok now I’m really boring you.

Boo chain letter: I got this letter on my front door inside a little Halloween gift back with some treats. I thought the idea was sweet so …

Ella created her own Boo card to give to a neighbor. Notice it reads “Pass Boo Around.” She insisted we take one over to “pie girl’s” house. (We bought a fundraiser pie from a little girl down the street but obviously we still don’t know her name.)

Two other moms and I planned and ran Ella’s preschool Halloween party. My friend April made these really cute snacks. And healthy. Crackers and pretzels filled with peanut butter and topped with raisins.

The party is underway. There were snacks, storytime, a craft, and games, sort of. Ella and I actually planned and created the games but our time was very limited and the games got cut. Poor Ella burst into tears at the party upon realizing it. I’m still heartbroken thinking about it. Luckily the other moms kept their kids at school a little longer to play the games with Ella.

I was up since 4 that morning with allergies so I’m a haggard looking Dorothy. But witch lady April is sure cute!

Actual Halloween day. Trick or treating at Aunt Sara’s with cousins. Ella’s such a big girl now she ran way ahead of us with her older cousins. I pushed Eva in a stroller until she decided to walk herself. They both did a good job. Very polite.

By Halloween Ella’s purple basket was filled to the brim.

Apparently whoppers are not very popular. I had a lot of those left. I have since take care of that problem mostly.

2 new books! Time to set the iPhone down

I just ordered two new books and I am very excited.

One is by comedien Mindy Kaling, a writer and actress on The Office, one of my favorite shows. And I just discovered she has a great blog here.

My other book is Lauren Conrad’s book Style. She got famous on MTV’s The Hills, but this girl has more style and class than most celebs, in my book. Anyway, I’m so obsessed with clothes, I even like to buy books about them these days, but there are worse hobbies right?

Brown County

My husband already posted some great photos on his blog here, but there are some not so perfect shots I like just as well.

We walked a treacherous curvy highway and finally found some space to ride a bike. We love you Brown County park, but bike trails would be really great.

It’s just so  hard to get a photo where they are BOTH cooperating. Sigh.

Loving my iPhone

We finally joined the world of iPhone lovers and bought Apple’s latest 4S.

I already knew I was in love with the company when my husband was able to just order the phones online and have them delivered, avoiding the long lines and wait with 2 children in tow.

And now that they have arrived, I am in love.

It is so sleek, and fun, and it actually works, which is a big step up from my last phone.

Now I am just figuring out all it has to offer. Siri, the voice activated “assistant” is awesome. I tell it to call Steve or text someone while I’m in my car and it’s completely hands-free. And the camera – it’s such good quality. Facetime is also really fun. I’ve already seen and talked to both my sisters this week with Facetime. And of course the kids are loving such apps as Songify – where their words are made into songs.

So, yeah, I’m certainly slow to jump on the bandwagon. But wow, it’s awesome.

I ordered the white so it would stand out from my husband’s. Isn’t it cool?
